Graduating Fremd seniors Victoria Moroney, Stephanie Resis, Nicoletta Straub, and Emi Sudo are examples of everything right with kids today. These four young women led The Bridge Youth Council this year, unselfishly giving their time to plan and conduct community service projects of all sorts. The Youth Council chooses their own projects during meetings held at The Bridge Youth and Family Services, planning and discussing ideas generated from within a group of high schools age volunteers. The unselfishness and energy they exhibit is impressive.
Under the leadership of Victoria, Stephanie, Nicoletta, and Emi the Youth Council completed dozens of projects this year ranging from roadside clean-ups to entertaining local senior citizens. They raised needed funds for The Bridge through a bake sale and car wash. They also raised funds for an orphanage in Thailand.
The Bridge Youth Council recently received an award for outstanding volunteer effort. The Sonya Petersen Award, named to honor the memory of an inspiring volunteer, is presented by a networking group of organizations and individuals serving youth in Palatine and Barrington Townships.
The Bridge thanks everyone who participated in Youth Council for a great year, especially these four committed leaders. If you know one of them, thank her for unselfish service to the community.
